Innovation Days (i-Days) are challenge-based learning events that train participants in innovation and entrepreneurship, design thinking methods, and pitching. The events aim to inspire creativity and collaboration while encouraging a new generation of health innovators. The EIT Health supports academic institutions to run and host i-Days for undergraduate and postgraduate students with an interest in healthcare innovation.
The Czech Republic was represented by the local winners of iDays 2022 in Prague. The team called Czech Boys worked on the challenge of How to check patients remotely.
The winners of EIT Health #iDays 2022:
The teams were part of a larger cohort of university students participating in the initiative to foster health innovation across Europe.
Before the Final Event in Vienna, it was an exciting three weeks full of innovation, creativity, and collaboration with almost 150 students coming together for healthcare innovation.
„We were truly amazed to witness the range of innovative ideas among the students who came from different backgrounds, and how well they worked together to come up with potentially life-changing solutions,“ says Lenka Hanušová from DEX Innovation Centre from the Czech Republic.
The Innovation Days are an institution of EIT Health and aim to promote innovation in health, through the active participation and training of students from academic institutions across Europe. From 17 October to 11 November 2022, i-Days were held in more than 30 different locations across Europe, online and/or in person.
We will soon launch a call for academic institutions to deliver i-Days in 2023. EIT Health offers support to the hosts in the coordination and leadership of the events.

EIT Health is a network of best-in-class health innovators backed by the EU. They collaborate across borders to deliver new solutions that can enable European citizens to live longer, healthier lives.
As Europeans tackle the challenge of increasing chronic diseases and multi-morbidity and seek to realise the opportunities that technology offers to move beyond conventional approaches to treatment, prevention and healthy lifestyles, we need thought leaders, innovators and efficient ways to bring innovative healthcare solutions to market. EIT Health addresses these needs.
EIT Health connects all relevant healthcare players across European borders – making sure to include all sides of the “knowledge triangle” so that innovation can happen at the intersection of research, education and business for the benefit of citizens.
