Discussion panel on Business support in Liberec region

The primary goal of the discussion was the analysis of an existing business support environment and ways of improving it. The discussion panel was organized by DEX Innovation Centre, which is currently implementing two European Union projects focused on young entrepreneurs - New Generation Skills and Accelerator.

The panel was attended by representatives of Liberec Region, Municipality of Liberec, CzechInvest regional office, Local Chamber of Commerce and Technical University of Liberec.  The business sphere was represented by Mr. Lukas Pytloun, young regional hotelier, and Mr. Filip Schleif from Lavaliere.cz, who is a fashion jewelry manufacturer and designer. Mr. Schleif said, “In my opinion, the business breakfast is a great idea. I had a chance to meet the local business support institutions and hopefully, there will be some more meetings in the future. I believe these discussions will open access ways for young entrepreneurs to networking, funding and education.”

The panel was a great success; one of the main topics was an intended construction of business incubator, which is unfortunately not available in our region at the moment. Another part of the discussion was an introduction of business support instruments provided by each organization. Although there is a number of such instruments available, they are not systematically coordinated on any level, which is a great challenge to tackle.

A platform, which would enable such meetings and discussions on regular basis, was the last point of discussion. All attendees expressed their interest in the long-term cooperation and the next event should be organized shortly.
