EIT Health Morning Health Talk connected more than 20 digital health and telemedicine czech stakeholders

Morning Health Talk on Future of digital health and telemedicine, organized on 25.9. as a hybrid event, connected more than 20 Czech stakeholders with 2 fantastic guest speakers from Estonia and Israel - countries that are scoring top positions in terms of their readiness and deployment of digital health and telemedicine solutions. 

Czech stakeholders present both at the physical part of the event in Opero at the heart of Prague and also virtually included: Ministry of health, insurance companies, hospitals, CzechInvest, CIIRC, SMEs and startups in digital health/telemedicine. 2 guests speakers included Priit Kruus from Estonia and Yoav Fisher from Israel who presented their situations and developments in their respective countries (see video recording and presentations below). The hybrid Morning Health Talk event merged guest presentations, questions and answers and moderated discussion on challenges and obstacles in the Czech Republic.

The discussed issues included:

  • information systems and electronic ID cards
  • before, during and after COVID-19 deployment of telemedicine
  • infrastructure at hospitals and tools used/banned
  • NICE classification of digital health services
  • mismatch of supply/demand - needs from the healthcare system and startups´ products
  • using Whatsapp during the COVID-19 crisis in Israel
  • scaling and building up support needed
  • standards in Estonia, Israel and the Czech Republic
  • time of doctors and infrastructure standards to manage telemedicine in healthcare providers
  • adoption of GDPR
  • legislation to catch up
  • government-based initiatives

Priit is the CEO of Dermtest, Estonia, with 10 years of experience in healthcare analytics, health policy research, digital health consulting and team management in the public, non-governmental and private sector.

He is the co-author of high-impact policy papers, including national telemedicine and personalized medicine implementation plans and long-term solvency model for national health insurance, as well as acts as the member of the advisory board at Estonian Connected Health cluster and lecturer at digital health technologies MSc study program at TalTech.

Yoav is the Head of technological Innovation and digital health at HealthIL, based in Israel.

He focuses on the business/financial strategy of startups and venture capital. Yoav is an expert in the field of digital health and healthcare Innovation, helping health organizations and corporate healthcare stakeholders to define and prioritize their needs and challenges, matching to Israeli startups.
