Quit smoking app won the Startup Campus V4 Roadhow - Prague competition

On Thursday, October 17th, another stop of Startup Campus V4 Roadshow took place in the premises of UP21 Incubator, Prague. DEX Innovation Centre (DEX IC) and Startup Campus have organized a pitching contest for Health and Medtech startups in order to help startups with visibility, networking and finding new partners.
The event started with welcome speeches from representatives of UP21, Startup Campus and DEX IC, followed by a keynote speech of Tamás Békási, EIT Health, who was talking about Health innovations in Europe - e.g. which segments are top invested or which countries are high innovators. “The level of innovation in Europe is increasing year by year, which is really positive”, started his speech. He also introduced programmes that EIT Health offers to startups.
After that, 5 startups had 4-minute pitches for the jury, and the jury had the same exact time for questions. The startups pitched as follows:
Adiquit - Proven Quit-Smoking Pocket Therapist
Vitadio - helps prevent and reverse type 2 diabetes
Wellmee - your personal wellbeing app
Worklabs - Unique product ecosystem for your healthy work
Zoryx - Virtual hospital & Healthcare logistics system
While the jury has been evaluating startups, Michal Stefan, DEX IC, introduced the SMART4MD app that improves the quality of life of people with mild dementia and their carers. “We are really happy the project has expected outcomes so far. Now, we are waiting for the clinical trial results”. The visitors got a detailed presentation on how the app works and what the benefits are.
The jury had a difficult task in choosing the best startup since all startups gave a very good pitch “It was really hard to choose the best startup. In the end, we have one winner and 4 second places” said Tamás Tossenberger, Startup Campus.
After careful evaluation of each pitch, the first place was awarded to AduQuit - “It was a great opportunity to share interesting topics, ideas”, summarized the competition winner. AdiQuit won a golden ticket that allows them to go to Budapest and take part in the semi-final. They will compete with the other winners from Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.
