Experts from Technical University Liberec, Doc. Ing. Michal Petrů, Ph.D and others, introduced modern technologies and devices as the internet of things and the augmented reality that are regarded as a part of Industry 4.0. Doc. Ing. Vojtěch Pražma, CSc. from the company Modelárna Liberec presented the best practice as well as Petr Solnař, a representative of a firm Merz, which solves digitalization of production. CzechInvest and Czech Moravian Guarantee and Development Bank introduced financing possibilities in the Czech Republic. The topic was interesting mainly for the automotive companies, that are connected to Germany trade, where Industry 4.0 is a part of the practice. And also SMEs, which want to keep pace with trends and want to be competitive, were involved with enthusiasm.
Within the following discussion, the participants defined the biggest contemporary barriers to the Industry 4.0 implementation in regional companies. Lack of industry 4.0 awareness was one of the named obstacles. The workshop realized in the project V4&I4 aimed to improve it and as well as making the supporting environment in the region and strengthen its competitiveness.
The event was held by the DEX Innovation Centre that has experience in projects focused on innovations and new technologies. It supports cooperation within the innovative ecosystem in the Liberec region. The workshop contributed to better industry 4.0 awareness, trigger a discussion thus support further development in the Liberec region.
