The HoCare project, whose main goal is to boost innovative Home Care solutions and where DEX Innovation Centre is involved as a Project Partner, competes for the prestigious European Health Award.

The NewGenerationSkills Project Partners met on 27-29 June 2017 in Liberec, Czech Republic to work on the main goal of the Project, which is the support of young people from selected regions of Central and Eastern Europe who would like to start their own successful businesses.

Two-day International Thematic Workshop of HoCare project was held at the beginning of June in Ljubljana and Litija (Slovenia). The main topic was a faster delivery of innovative home care solutions to the market.

DEX IC had an opportunity to share his experience in preparation of projects in European Territorial Programmes with participants of Workshop Interreg Central Europe in Brno, 9th of June 2017.

The eafip Workshop on innovation procurement in public construction will be held in the Old Town Hall in Prague, Czech Republic, on 14th November 2017. The workshop targets public procurers (ministries, regional and local authorities, agencies, public bodies, etc.) 

Our institute was delighted to be chosen to moderate a regional conference “Regionem za vyzkum”, which was held on April 26, 2017 at the Regional Research Library in Liberec.

One of the first content-wise deliverables of PPI2Innovate project was the Trans-regional study on institutional frameworks relevant for PPI in 6 CE Countries, that was moderated by UNITO.

On Tuesday, April 25 a meeting of representatives of the public administration, academia and business was held at Grand Hotel Imperial in Liberec.

Project , funded by the Danube Transnational Program, primarily targets young people (15-29) and will engage SME's, NGO's, cities, educational organisations and also mentors, lectors and coaches to build and test common initiatives support the young.

DEX IC had opportunity to share it´s experience in preparation of projects in European Territorial Programmes with participants of seminar related to programmes of European Territorial Cooperation and Visegrad fund, which was organized in premises of Kralovehradecky region, 25^th of April 2017.

DEX Innovation Centre and Technology Centre AV CR organized seminar in topic “Financing of innovation through PPI” in the framework of the project PPI2Innovate. Seminar took place in premises of Technology Centre AV CR on Wednesday 19^th of April. Participants were representatives of public procurers and another stakeholders.

PPI2Innovate project is focused on project procurers at all levels of public administration in Central Europe, with the aim to build regional PPI capacity, change attitude related to PPI and to strengthen links between stakeholders in regional innovation systems and thereby increase using of PPI in Central Europe.

The second HoCare International Thematic workshop, part of the European project “HoCare” which deals with the issue of ageing population and aims to boost generation of new innovative solutions for home care,​​ was organized in Budapest on 27th and 28th March 2017 by the National Healthcare Service Center from Hungary. The workshop offered many opportunities to exchange experiences and good practices in the field of generation of innovative solutions for home care. The focus of the second workshop was on generation of innovation through the public driven innovation approach. For the Czech Republic, DEX Innovation Centre has been joined by a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Robert Wenzel, to present and discuss regional situations and good practices in this field from the Czech Republic and gather and discuss good practices from other countries.

Public procurement of innovative solutions (PPI) is a powerful tool to boost innovation. The public sector demands innovative solutions that are not yet available or not at large scale on the market and thus forces providers to innovate. PPI2Innovate targets directly public procurers on all administrative levels in central Europe with the aim to build regional capacities in PPI, to change attitude towards PPI, to strengthen linkages among relevant stakeholders in regional innovation systems and to finally boost usage of PPI. The project will achieve this change by delivering innovative outputs such as 3 thematic PPI2Innovate tools for smart health, energy and ICT fully customized to 6 national institutional frameworks and translated.

Europe’s population is growing older, leading us into many societal challenges which those changes are bringing. In the future there will be higher absolute numbers of elderly people, a larger share of elderly and longer healthy life expectancies. International Thematic Workshop on home care R&I organized on 27th January 2017 in Funchal (Madeira) offered many opportunities to exchange experiences and good practices from the field of innovative solutions for home care. More than 100 participantsattended the event which was organized by Business Development Institute of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (IDERAM).

The workshop was part of European project “HoCare” which deals with the issues of ageing population and focuses on boosting creation of innovative solutions for home care through quadruple-helix cooperation. Partners from Portugal, Cyprus, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, and the Czech Republic attended the event bringing with them also the relevant stakeholders from the field of home care. Current situations regarding home care research and innovation support and good practices from participating countries were presented at the workshop. 3 interactive working groups enabled discussions on possibilities for transferability of good practise projects or management / strategic focus of Operational programmes. The focus was especially on generation of innovation in home care by addressing unmet needs identified by formal and informal providers of health care.

New project Accelerator of which DEX IC became a partner has just started. If you are a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) who needs a capital and has no or lack of skills to get it, if you are business support organization, stakeholder, investor or other financing institution, it is targeted right at you.

The second Startup Europe Week (6th- 10th February) is over, having had the participation of +280 co-organisers spread across 40+ countries. DEX Innovation Centre was SEW17 co-organiser and held our own event in Liberec, Czech Republic for the initiative last week.

On 6th February 2017, a second edition of the event „Startup Europe Week“ took place in Liberec. Liberec, as well as Prague and Brno, became one of three Czech cities which was given the opportunity to organize this European initiative for start-up businesses. This event was held in the same week in more than 220 cities from 40 European countries.

The 2nd edition Startup Europe Week Liberec 2017 that will take place on 6th of February in Krajská vědecká knihovna in Liberec. Startup Europe Week has been created to include all the European regions in a startup focused program.

November and December 2016 signalled 2 significant steps for DEX Innovation Centre in the development of the SMART4MD application for patients with mild dementia – a test of the developed clickable prototype among target groups and the ethical approval of trial of the application on real patients and carers.
