On Tuesday, November 27th, 2018, DEX Innovation Centre has proudly participated at the workshop related to the 4th - Capitalization call of the Interreg Central Europe programme and 3rd call of the Interreg Danube organized in Prague, the Czech Republic by the Ministry of the Regional Development of the Czech Republic.
In the NGS project, we will implement a program that aims to develop students ' entrepreneurial and digital skills. The program that will be attended mainly by secondary schools' students from Liberec and the Technical University of Liberec is almost complete and will be able to start its implementation in the next year.
The three-day Alzheimer Europe Conference, held from 29th October to 31st October in Barcelona seized the opportunity to present the prototype of the SMART4MD app for tablets aiming to improve quality of life of people with mild dementia.
At this time, we are finishing the mapping of school educational frameworks and social need in all 9 European regions involved in the InnoSchool project. Precise mapping is crucial for the following development of a serious game, one out of four key parts of the unique InnoSchool Learning System (ILS) that will improve the entrepreneurial skills of secondary schools students.
Procurement of innovative solutions and examples of good practices were the main topics discussed during the 2nd PPI2Innovate Days held on the 9th of October 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia. The event was organized by the Croatian Agency for SME's, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO).
Public event of the InnoSchool project took place in Liberec, Czech Republic, following the internal meeting with our partners. More than 40 people gathered in KultiVAR, co-working place for artists and freelancers. We introduced InnoSchool to the public and our four guest speakers were discussing the topic of motivating the secondary school students for social entrepreneurship as well as the current educational system and the use of digital technologies.

On Thursday 6th September, Seedstars event took place in Prague. 10 best seed-stage start-ups competed to present the country at the Seedstars Summit and opportunity to win up to USD 1 million in equity investments and other prizes.
As the initiator and lead partner of the international project InnoSchool, we invite all high schools, their directors and teachers, educational institutions, regional and national public institutions that work with secondary schools, high school students, non-profit organizations or associations working with social needs, social entrepreneurs, innovative projects and initiatives in this area, and the media for the opening event of the InnoSchool project. As author and Lead partner of InnoSchool project, we are proud to announce that the project has recently been approved for funding by the Danube Transnational Programme. InnoSchool project connects 11 Partners and 6 Associated Strategic Partners, representing 9 different countries from the Danube territory. Nearly 2 million euro is dedicated to strengthen social innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of secondary schools’ students by development and introduction of highly innovative Learning System.
The Kick-off event of Social Life Science platform - Innovation of home care services took place in Central Bohemian Innovation Centre (SIC) on 19th of June 2018. DEX Innovation Centre, as the implementer of HoCare project, was present here too.
SIC's Innovative platform's goal is to strengthen the mutual collaboration of institutions, subjects and individuals acting in the field of integrated care. In this innovative platform, many experts will be involved - universities, research centres, towns or interest associations. Thanks to the involvement of top professionals will be the Social Life Sciences platform able to promote its visions, needs and at the same time to provide sufficient information about the latest topics in the field of integrated care.
During #DEMODAY of DEXIC Accelerator the jury was facing a difficult decision to take - to choose the best startup from the field of ICT. After hard and careful evaluation of all 7 presenting startups and their 4-minutes pitches, the first place was awarded to the startup of which the main ambition is to protect the networks from the harmful malware and access to infected websites, Whalebone. In order to do so, Whaleboneuses their global security intelligence grid which enables the network protection even without any software installation or various configuration changes. #DEMODAY winner is at the same time also a winner of previous DEXIC BootCamp mentoring event held also in Liberec in March of this year, 2018.
On Thursday 14th June, 2018 at 4:30 PM #DEMODAY final public contest of 7 ICT startups - moderated in English, will take place in Kulturní centrum Vratislavice 101010. Various startups, not only from the Czech Republic and Slovakia but also from Malaysia came to Liberec in order to take an active participation in DEXIC 4-weeks Acceleration programme. Determined 7 start-ups showed up with a view to improve their business project ideas based on the constructive feedback from more than 25 mentors from all around the world, will present their 4-minutes PITCH from the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
On Monday, May 21st, 2018 international acceleration programme for ICT startups - DEXIC Accelerator, has been launched in Liberec.
DEXIC Accelerator in its 4-weeks duration brought together to Liberec 7 promising startups, not only from the Czech Republic in order to strengthen, improve and accelerate their business projects as a result of professional mentoring provided by internationally recognized mentors. Intense Accelerator programme, organized by private innovation centre from Liberec - DEX Innovation Centre, will culminate with the final public event - #DEMODAY, which will take place on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 in Kulturní centrum Vratislavice 101010. During the final event, all 7 startups will present their pitches and will compete for the best one. Moreover, the startups will have a unique opportunity to attract the investors and get promotion for their business projects.
A meeting of home care experts was held on Wednesday 18th April 2018 in European House in Prague to support the emergence of innovations in the home care in the Czech Republic. The meeting was organized in the framework of the project HoCare by DEX Innovation Centre from Liberec which is a project realization in the Czech Republic. Participants of the event from a different organization, as universities – Czech Technical University in Prague, hospitals – University Hospital in Plzeň, ministeries, technological companies – High Tech Park, and innovation centres as well as social organizations discussed the possibility of formation of the technological platform and realization of the pilot project.

On Monday, March 5, 2018, a meeting of the New Generation Skills and Innovation Laboratories Group took place at the Cultural Center Vratislavice 101010. Innovation Laboratory concept and the services that could be offered were discussed during the afternoon.
